YogaLab NorthWest Founders
Kenny was dragged to a yoga class one evening many years ago and walked out of the room an hour later thinking “That was some silly breathing and rolling around on the floor…” Fast forward another year or so and he stumbled into a yoga class on accident at a gym and left the room hooked. He views yoga as a practice of introspection and personal growth building upon the foundation we lay for ourselves everyday. Our foundation may not be ready for yoga, but yoga will always be there waiting for the day that we are ready for it! Enthralled with the endless journey that combines the calming of your mind, tuning into every fiber of your body, and the pure athleticism; you can find Kenny as both an instructor as well as a student for life discovering a new "edge" on his mat. He practices under many difference influences and can appreciate the unique vantage point that each style offers to both the body and mind. Inspired by this paradigm he teamed up with Lara Ederer to bring the YogaLab NorthWest project together as a way to bring a diverse offering of world class yoga to the community.
Lara was introduced to yoga in 2002 and left her first class inspired by the physicality of Asanas and the mental clarity from Pranayama breath work. Over the next several years she ventured in and out of different styles and studios before finding her “home” in Vinyasa Yoga. Lara could recognize the profound spiritual and personal growth happening as a result of regular practice and was compelled to want to share it. Lara enrolled in Be Luminous’ 200 hour Teaching Training in January, 2012 so she could deepen her teaching experience as well as knowledge of yoga’s rich history and philosophy. Lara has completed a Teacher’s Assisting Program (TAP), Teacher Training, and Foundations of Baptiste Yoga with Lisa Black at Shakti East. She has also taken workshops with Master Teachers Amy Ippoliti, Tiffany Cruickshank, Chris Chavez, and Rod Stryker to name a few. She practices Ashtanga weekly with Troy Lucero and continues to find inspiration from her mentors Tina Templeman, Liz Doyle, and Dora Gyramati When she’s off the mat Lara spends time with her husband Mark and her 5 year old son Liam.
